Cold Shower Therapy
Worth a try?
While in Portland, I ended each of my showers with a rinse of cold water. Crazy you might think, but I’ve been reading up on it and turns out rinsing with cold water is believed to have a ton of health benefits.
Here’s a few:
-cleans the circulatory system
-decreases body’s reaction time to cold; therefore keeping your body warmer longer when exposed to chilly temperatures
-increases lymphocytes, antibodies that help fight germs
-renewed energy (said to help people suffering from chronic fatigue)
-contracts muscles to eliminate toxins
-increases blood flow in organs
-lifts mood, decreases stress and jump starts the immune systemCold water therapy is only beneficial if you make it a habitual thing; one cold rinse just isn’t gunna cut it! They say it takes about 6 weeks to really notice a difference. I’ve been doing it for about a minute at the end of my showers.
