[On Writing] Biz dev emails and first impressions →
Yesterday I got an email from a biz dev guy at a company that syncs data between different applications from different companies. This was the first line of the email:
I work for an enterprise level integration company that is looking to attack the long tail of the market for point to point integration solutions.

On the other hand, it is getting increasingly difficult to squeeze out usability...

How much for digital? →
The movie studios are starting to get excited about renting movies digitally (via Apple and others). The pricing seems to be modeled on Blockbuster (+). Figure $3 a rental, another buck or so for HD. That seems ‘fair’, because it’s in the same range as we’re used to. But wait. Blockbuster buys DVDs for $15 or $20 (probably a lot less in volume, but I have no clue what the...
Fluid: Wrap your favorite web apps in their own... →
With Fluid you can give your favorite web apps their own contained Safari-powered space on OS X. A cool object may be at the center of the experience, but as others have noted, surrounding a successful product like the iPod is a complete ecosystem that includes content and services, software and interfaces, retail experience, Web site experience, and an...
"Best Ad Ever" is for ... Volvo? Guess So. →
Dave and Eddy claim they’ve found THE GREATEST AD EVER. (And it’s not that damn Volkswagen ad.) In an attic! Visual fetishists, prepare to be disappointed. It lacks color, imagery or music to boost its emotional cred.
Very well done Adidas/Beijing ‘08 ad. via Adrants.
Are you a Brand Bigot? →
The answer is probably. Regardless if you are for or against any particular brand.

Another logo orb…yikes.
Design Sells. →
Good design matters. But, it seems that many PC manufacturers are taking that idea too far, by adding super bright colors and more and more stuff. Once again, they are missing the simplicity boat. Plus, isn’t it important to be beautiful on the inside as well as out?
